Dumb mmmn an album for driving on a cool summer night through downtown Los Angeles with the windows down and lights passing you by... serene, and at times surreal. another Relapse grab bag selection... very cool Favorite track: Glimmering Lights.

brantly Certainly an evolution for the Album Leaf, as this is a fuller, more song-driven experience as opposed to the cerebral post-rock that marked previous releases, but that doesn't detract from the LP's warm post-hangover wonder.

E L I I had never heard of The Album Leaf before hearing the title track on the latest Relapse Sampler. And now I'm here. As always, I'm late to the game, but I'm glad to have randomly discovered this amazing album. Favorite track: Between Waves.

Nearly twenty years into a career that has seen Jimmy LaValle exercising his creativity across the realms of film scoring, sound collage, and electronic / rock music, via instrumental and vocal-driven compositions alike, LaValle and THE ALBUM LEAF are poised to deliver yet another sonic triumph with 2016’s 'Between Waves'. Born out of a thorough reinvention of LaValle's creative process and approach, 'Between Waves' is THE ALBUM LEAF's first proper full-length record in over six years and the first to be recorded and produced as a complete band, and was written with greater emphasis on the group dynamic.
